When I checked the Derby site this morning, I saw that two of the eggs were being kept in front of the female, and there seemed to be eggshell on the right:

Moments later, she had moved, giving a view of the first chick! Looks like a pip in another of the eggs.

The male brought in food, and stayed throughout the feeding, watching every move closely:

When the female left with the rest of the food, the male watched over the chick:

All four eggs hatched at this site, and the chicks are growing fast:

Today was a wet day in Derby, and Mom was mantling the chicks, trying to protect them from the rain:

Not sure if it was one of the pair from this cam, but here's some really maddening news out of Derbyshire:

Thank you for posting that, Patsy. I hadn't seen it before.

There is no end to the persecution of these beautiful birds, and in fact it seems to be getting worse.

It is sickening.

I can tell you that the bird who was shot was not one of the Derby pair.

Here is a pic I saved from the webcam on March 14. Both birds were at the nest at the same moment, one on each side of the nest.

Also, from a post on the Derby blog on March 14:

We are confident that these are the very same birds that originally colonised the tower back in 2004/2004.

Well, that's some good news.  Thanks, Alison.
