being tape will her stripes come off? If so how long do they last?  If it comes off she should of gotten diamonds.

I was wondering the same thing, BC.

Yes, I've heard the colored tape does eventually disappear.

  @ Central Terminal

  First egg at UB!

I don't know if there are any eggs yet at any of the other Buffalo nestsites, but I hope they are all staying warm because the temps tonight and tomorrow will be in the 20s!   surprise

Buffalo Central Terminal Falcons - Noon Watch 3-24-10
From Rochester Falcon Watcher ~Joyce

I am not addicted!  After I stopped in downtown Rochester for a mid-morning falcon fix on Wed. 3/24, I headed off to work in Orchard Park.  I decided to take another quick detour and stopped by the Buffalo Central Terminal.

Here are a few shots of the falcons at Central Terminal Tower.  The tiercel has a band on his left leg.

So glad you got those great shots, Joyce!  It's a great place for the nest.  Shooting into the afternoon sun can be blinding!

BB's new mate has been ID'd as "Yankee", banded in Niagara Gorge, 2008!

Thanks for update on "Yankee".

I can't believe the close proximity of the three nest sites.  Statler, Central Terminal, and Tifft-Fuhrmann.  If the pair at the grain elevator are establishing a nest site, then the three territories might overlap.   On the map, they form a triangle. Geesh, 7 pairs in the Buffalo area, and we only have 1 pair in Rochester.

You're welcome Joyce!  The nest sites do seem close but when you consider the grain elevator pefas (new pix on blog) have the waterfront with ducks and Tifft Nature Preserve across the street, I'm sure it will be fine.

The three Statler eyasses  banded in 2009 were free of lice (!) indicating the parents didn't feed them from readily available pigeon inventory downtown, but instead must have done most of their grocery shopping at Tifft for nice sweet songbirds.  Smiley

BB and Yankee now have two eggs and a pet rock.  Smiley
