So most of you know that aside from Dumpsterkitty, I'm also owned by Chewbacca the Wookie cat.

As you can see, he is a rather large long haired cat.

Although for some strange reason while I'm at work they choose to sleep together on the floor in their tie-dye blankie...

most nights are spent in bed with me.

Chewbacca also has 2 quirks...he will not allow me to brush him and he will not allow me to trim his nails. These came together in a perfect storm last night.

I woke up at 12:30 or so to Chewbacca howling at the foot of the bed & Dumpsterkitty hissing by my ear. Chewbacca was flailing around and finally fell off the bed. I went to see what was wrong and he was trying to crawl using just his front legs, screaming when he tried moving his back legs. All I could think was he was somehow paralyzed. I had to pick him up as he was headed for under the dresser. I put him on the bed and discovered the problem.

He had gotten his back toe nails caught in a mat of fur on his belly.

Never getting a long hair cat again.

Oh poor baby, what could you do to get him out of
his predicament?  A beautiful cat.

I managed to get him untangled without losing half my arm. He did need a bit of a massage...his leg was cramped. And he hid the rest of the night...spent about an hour getting up & checking on him.

Back to normal now!
