Title: Montezuma Wildlife Refuge with Joyce and MAK Post by: MAK on 28-Sep-13, 12:32:49 AM Joyce and I went to Montezuma Wildlife Refuge on Friday afternoon hoping to find a juvie PEFA named Baron but no such luck. We did however see many adult and juvie Bald Eagles flying and frolicking in the blue sky, Northern Harriers, 2 White Pelicans (rare around here) and my first pelicans of any kind. There were plenty of gulls, Canadian Geese, ducks and cormorants. A nice surprise was 3 Sandhill Cranes, many White Egrets and Great Blue Herons. And to end the day there was a hot air balloon to send us off with smiles! :happy:

(I haven't figured out how to do that yet.) What a fine, birdy, day you and Joyce experienced. Maybe FlaDonna will see Baron at the migrating PEFA survey down there. ;) Will you be posting the White Pelicans on ebird?
