No rfalconcam this year? I see Wild Wings but not rfalconcam.

So it's not me!  I was looking for it and thought maybe it was under something else!  Are we doing this again this year?

I didn't find it either when I looked.  I assume we would be participating but it's up to GVAS, I would guess.

I emailed Lisa about re-registering Rfalconcam Friday night.

I don't see Rfalconcam registered yet with 9 days to go until the registration period ends.  Has it been decided that we aren't entering this year or is Lisa still working on it?

I have finally found a few minutes in my very busy schedule and have re-registered Rfalconcam and GVAS for Roc the Day.  Sorry for the delay.

FYI, there won't be any rewards for getting the most donations this year. The only reward is the random drawing of the name of a donor each hour. The donor can choose a charity to receive $500.

We can still concentrate our pledges into one or two early-morning hours. This will slightly increase the chances of having one of our names being drawn for those hours.

After midnight, early morning I believe.....in spurts!

Even though we're not racing for most in an hour like last year I would think if we focus on one hour it's more likely one of us will be picked.

Last year we focused on the first two hours -- midnight to 2 AM. It worked well for us. We should probably try for that again with a slight change. We can donate once each hour in order to get our names in the hourly drawings.

Remember the rules are different this year. There is no automatic prize for having the most donors in a 2-hour block. It's just a series of 24 random drawings, one each hour. However, we can greatly improve our chances of having one of our names picked if all of us donate together in the same 1-hour period when there are very few other people donating. This would be in the very early hours of December 11.

So donate a dollar at midnight. Then stay awake for another hour or set your alarm for 1 AM to donate another buck. If you're a real die-hard, try again at 2, 3, and 4 AM!

How did we do it last year? I know it was after midnight! I can't even remember! I know I donated in spurts!!

Last year was different. Our ultimate goal is to spread out our donations once per hour...one drawing per hour for the bonus. BUT if those doing one major donation do it all within one hour there's a better chance one of us will be picked.

Provided that it is a "slow" hour with very few other donors. The 2-3 AM hour would probably be the slowest, but I doubt many of us would be awake at that hour. Midnight-1 AM should be pretty slow too, and most of us can stay up that late. (1-2 AM should be slow too. If you can stay up that late, I'd suggest donating twice. How great would it be if two of us won an hourly drawing and Rfalconcam received $1000!)

I can do the 1AM !  Probably the 2 AM !

Strange - the clock on the ROC site is on Central time on my computer - an hour more away from an Eastern 12 midnight start time. I wonder if I have to wait an extra hour...

The Forum displays your local time if the time offset in your profile is correct.

I don't mean the forum but the ROC site itself!! Their clock shows my local time, not Rochester time!
But…now it looks like anyone can donate starting 12 Eastern time, even though their clock doesn't jibe.

I guess they didn't test it in other time zones.

One an hour, 4 times; I'm done!

I fell asleep and missed the midnight and 1 am hours, but I made up for it at 2 and 3 am. Hope we are one of the bonus winners.

5 am and back at it.

I haven't seen any updates about drawings on the ROC the Day home page. I wonder if they did any overnight.

As of 5:30 there were only 358 donations. That means there were some really slow hours between 2 and 5 am.

 Rochester Greenovation received the $500 bonus from the 6 am drawing.

Just checked the ROC the Day totals and so far Rfalconcam has raised over $400 in donations.  Great job by those who stayed up to donate during the wee hours of the morning.   :thumbsup:

Ill answer my own question-yes they did and they'll have a list tomorrow at mid-day.  I hope they let people know if they won.  they were not putting updates-that I saw-last night-may have been asleep!

Lisa has that information. She posted on Facebook that as of 10:30 we had raised $581.

According to the new update-if you had the most people in a two hour period you won money too!

For the designation, if your name was chosen, rfalconcam was listed twice.  Did anyone else have that happen?

yes, I wondered about that. And then my second time it was pre-chosen for me (?) and then when I donated the fourth time (at 3 am Eastern) I selected it again, and couldn't remember what had happened the third time, and accordingly started freaking out that I had not chosen rfalconcam (which I most likely did, but forgot)…one of the perks of staying up late ;-)

I just hope that I selected rfalconcam all 4 times and not just 3
(given that it was my entire REASON for donating four times and not all at once).

It was preselected a couple of times, but not other times. But I don't think it will let you proceed without picking someone.

And there are 2 rfalconcams listed. I just chose the first one. I didn't think it would matter since it's a random drawing this year, but if there's also a cumulative component...

I was planning to continue donations, but if we can only get one bonus, then I would still donate to rfalconcam and change my organization to Wild Wings. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

One organization, just a little while ago, got $1000 for time period 12-2 PM so they got $500 each hour.

They have two things I think.  One is Rocstar of the hour and the other said most donors in a two hour time frame.

Congratulations!!!!  We won the RocStar of the hour at 1:00 today.  That's an additional $500 on top of the $757 donated so far.  As for the early morning awards, unfortunately we did not win any.  So far we are at $1257 and counting!!

I have inquired with Roc the Day and YES an organization can win the RocStar bonus twice.  All those who donated during the hour are eligible for the drawing and the organization they choose gets the bonus.  So keep on Roc'in!!!
