Aldora means A Winged Gift. Ariel is a spirit of the Air element. Aurora is a natural light display in the sky (from the Latin word aurora, "sunrise" or the Roman goddess of dawn). Christa is in honor of Christa McAuliffe, teacher and astronaut. She carried some of the best dreams with her. Freya was the Norse Goddess of Love and Beauty and was one of the major Goddesses of Norse Mythology. Freya had a falcon cloak which allowed any who wore it to become a bird and fly! Tempest is a disturbance in the sky. What's more disturbing in the sky then a falcon on the hunt! Willow means graceful and flexible - like a peregrine that soars in the wind. One of this year's eyases will be given either an appropriate gender-specific name or a gender-neutral name, whichever receives the most votes. In case of a tie, the number of times each of the 2 names was submitted will be used as a tie breaker. If that is a tie too, a coin will be flipped. |
