Title: New Aqueduct Mural Post by: patsy6 on 19-Aug-14, 01:06:17 PM I periodically peak inside the old Erie Canal aqueduct underneath the Broad Street Bridge, just to see whatever new murals/graffiti might be there. Imagine my surprise today when I took a peak and this is what I saw. I was so excited! I didn't have my camera with me, so I am eternally grateful to my friend and co-worker Jean for the pictures.

Title: Re: New Aqueduct Mural Post by: patsy6 on 19-Aug-14, 01:43:13 PM I don't think it's been there very long, Donna. Maybe a month or so. It was not there the last time I checked, which was just before Watchers Weekend. I asked two young men who are currently painting a mural on the outside wall of the aqueduct near the Blue Cross Arena if they knew who painted it. They said no, but they thought it had a similar style to "some murals painted in the South Avenue area." I think I know the murals they're referring to. I'll try to look for them this weekend to see if I can find a signature. I am wondering if it may have been done by Sarah Rutherford, as she has painted falcons in murals before, and I know she knows about our falcons. That's just a guess, though.
By the way, they hope to finish their mural by Sunday. It's going to be a portrait of early and current Rochester life on the aqueduct. It's coming together nicely, and I'll bet it will look awesome when it's finished. They are from Syracuse. They know about the Rochester falcons, and they've been watching as they are painting. In fact, they saw the falcons-eagle encounter that Carol, Dana and I saw a week ago Sunday. We talked about Beauty and Dot.ca, but I forgot to tell them about Pigott! Title: Re: New Aqueduct Mural Post by: patsy6 on 19-Aug-14, 02:47:43 PM Okay, here's what I found out on the artist. He remains somewhat anonymous, but a co-worker of mine is a friend of his, and he directed me to his blog and instagram:
