Title: Driving in Downtown Rochester
Post by: patsy6 on 16-Oct-14, 02:29:00 PM
Not sure if all the non-local rfalconcam watchers know (or care) that two streets in Beauty and Dot.ca's territory that were one way for 45+ years are two-way north of Main Street as of today and tomorrow.  That would be St. Paul Street (today) and Clinton Avenue (tomorrow).  That's what most of the road construction the watchers have had to put up with for the past few months was all about.  I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around it.

Here's a video of the first vehicle not accidentally going north on that section of St. Paul Street for the first time in almost 50 years.

The reason for it, is the new RTS bus terminal that opens next month, so they have access from both roads. I drove north bound down St. Paul St. tonight for the first time-it was kind of eerie, kept expecting someone to come at me head on. It looked so much different going that direction too, I almost didn't recognize it. Weird how we get so in tune with routine.
