Larry says: February 21, 2010 at 12:00 am It’s about time for whoever to get off the dime and fix this password mess on Imprints. I know three people who would like to post and can’t because we can’t get in. Title: Re: Larry & others need help (posted on Imprints) Post by: Shaky on 21-Feb-10, 09:04:46 PM Yep, it's been actively worked on for weeks. I've posted several times on this forum and on kfaconcam about how to get help and even pointed out several times that Imprints is for Jess only and not for falcon watches. That's what the FalconWatch blog is for. I also know that FalconWatch passwords were reset yesterday and emailed to watchers.
Again, if watchers need help logging in and posting to the blog, they can contact Carol P. Title: Re: Larry & others need help (posted on Imprints) Post by: loheron on 21-Feb-10, 09:52:03 PM I received an email that passwords were reset. I followed directions (altho' I'm really wondering what the point is anymore.) It is absolutely not working. The login/password are not recognized. They are not accepted.
I'm getting really tired of being told that I'm the one that can't follow directions when the DIRECTIONS ARE WRONG. Or the DIRECTIONS DON'T WORK. This is where I keep ending up. http://www.rfalconcam.com/falconwatch/wp-login.php I volunteer for several organizations which include keeping up websites. I make things easy and when I say something works, IT WORKS. I don't have to constantly email and say IT DOESN'T WORK. I certainly don't tell people that IT WORKS WHEN IT DOESN'T. These are the directions that I am following: Posting Reports on the FalconWatch Blog The FalconWatch blog uses WordPress, a very popular software program for writing blogs. WordPress blogs are powerful and easy to use. You’ll find writing your Fledge Watch report to be no more difficult than typing an email. However, if you find using WordPress too difficult, just email your watch report to fwrpt08@rfalconcam.com, and we’ll post it for you. After logging on to the Falcon Watch blog, you will see the blog’s Dashboard, the place where all of the data in the blog is organized. Here are the steps you need to take. Logging On Log on by clicking the Log in link under the Meta section on the right side of the blog. You may need to scroll down a bit to find it. You can also go straight to the login screen at http://www.rfalconcam.com/falconwatch/wp-admin. Type your Username and Password in the spaces provided, then click the Log in button. login screenYour username and password need to be entered exactly as they have been sent to you. All usernames are in lower case letters, and generally follow this format: <<< editted here>>>. If you forget your password, click the Lost your password link. Type your email address or your username and click the Get New Password button. A new password will be sent to your email address. Title: Re: Larry & others need help (posted on Imprints) Post by: Shaky on 21-Feb-10, 10:35:33 PM Carol P knows how to log in. Contact her for help. Those directions are incorrect because, as I posted weeks ago, another step was added to thwart hackers.
Title: Re: Larry & others need help (posted on Imprints) Post by: loheron on 22-Feb-10, 02:40:04 PM I've had a email thread going with Jim P today.
He believes that he has located the source of the problem with log-ins for posting falcon watch reports. He is researching a solution. The problem should also be affecting Dana, Lisa and anyone else not associated with maintaining rfalconcam. Larry Title: Re: Larry & others need help (posted on Imprints) Post by: birdlover on 22-Feb-10, 08:01:51 PM Just bump the known watchers to admin privileges and then when they log in, they can set their p/w so they never expire.
This is SimpleForums, PHP, not Word Press...? Title: Re: Larry & others need help (posted on Imprints) Post by: Shaky on 22-Feb-10, 11:00:12 PM The FalconWatch blog is WordPress.
