Title: Duke Farms Bald Eagles in NJ Up to their ears in SNOW Post by: Caitie on 05-Mar-15, 03:48:18 PM Duke Farms Bald Eagles have 2 eggs laid mid month and they are incubating fighting the elements here in Central NJ. This morning when I checked in you could see a very slight mound where its back lie and snow almost completely covering the females head except for the beak. With so many snow falls one after the other here and little time for it to melt down enough to expose grass I worry for the birds :blustery:

The first time I saw something like this was Ft. St. Vrain, Colorado (I think). Poor mother eagle was completely covered. I could only see the tip of her beak the am and she had a 2 inch crown of snow..
