The tiercel at Seneca Towers with a black over green 99/BA band has been called 99 since he arrived in September 2014. No one was sure whether he displaced Veteran or simply showed up shortly after Veteran migrated for the winter. With April approaching and many bonded pairs in the region already laying eggs, it's looking like 99 is here to stay.

Since the name 99 was only meant to be a temporary name for what appeared to be a migrating bird passing through the area, we are asking our Forum members if this should become his permanent name, or should he be given new name.

Please vote for one of the three choices above. Choice 1 is to keep the name 99. Choice 2 is to change his name to Seth, the runner-up in the naming poll for Veteran last year. Choice 3 is to allow the public to submit names in accordance to our naming guidelines and then have Forum members vote for their favorite.

BTW, the name Seth was submitted in honor of Seth Green, the namesake for the road that Seneca Towers is located on, and the nearby park. Seth was a well known fisherman in the Rochester area and instrumental in the fish hatching industry.

Ah! I got it - eventually... Probably me being a doof, and the instructions being fine. I had to go to Polls, so perhaps I misunderstood in the first place.

99 was actually called Mr. Yellow Tape at first because of the yellow tape on his left leg band. I think the name Seth suits him. JMO   :yes:

That's the name I chose for Veteran!!! Before I get all gloaty (prob not a word but who cares) and excited, was I the only one who submitted the name *Seth???  :hyper:
