Title: Zielitz, Germany Peregrines 2016 Post by: AlisonL on 23-Feb-16, 08:25:04 PM Last year was a very difficult one for the peregrines at this nest. I think that something happened to one of the birds, or one was displaced by an intruder. The first two chicks who hatched appeared to be underfed and neglected, and both died young in the nest. A third chick hatched, and was also thin and malnourished. However, this chick managed to hang on and eventually grew up and fledged successfully. I did see the juvie visit the nest from time to time after fledging.
I hope that this year will be a much better one for the peregrines at this nest.
