Title: Bavaria Peregrines 2016 Post by: AlisonL on 28-Feb-16, 03:55:19 PM This Bavarian beauty likes to sleep in her nest box most nights, but in the last few days she has also visited the nest during the day.
Last year, she laid three eggs, and all three hatched. The three chicks grew up and fledged successfully. I have left the nest location vague, for the safety of the birds. With four chicks, there is usually one smaller one, as there was in this case. Mom always made sure the little one was up front to be fed, and all four had full crops each time. Dad is an excellent provider. All four fledged successfully as far as I know.
Mom had been coming home to sleep in her nest each night for a while; then she disappeared for a number of days. She returned, and then was gone again for a number of nights.
