I read this article as well and was shocked to hear this news.So sad to think that so many of the chicks died. Appreciate you pointing this news out for those who missed it.  :sorrow:

I follow a few farm sanctuaries online and they say this happens all the time - they are shipped out at one day old so they are still ingesting their yolk sack but after 72 hours they need food and water or they die and many of them do.  Shipment of live animals shouldn't be allowed - unless a person is there as an escort say in the case of transporting a pet which they claim these are but many end up being used in backyard butchers operations once they grow up.
