Title: Heart Walk April 22nd Post by: Shaky on 10-Apr-17, 12:21:40 PM After spending 4 months battling the cameras, network, computers, yadda, yadda, yadda of Rfalconcam, I finally have the time to work on something else.
So once again, my coworkers and I will be participating in the Rochester Heart Walk on April 22nd. The event is put on by the American Heart Association to raise money to fight heart disease, the Nation's number 1 killer. Due to the past immeasurable generosity of humanity (and especially falcon watchers), my personal goal this year is to raise $500 gajillion. If you'd like to help me, please visit my Heart Walk page and make a donation. I'd really appreciate it, and so would the millions of Americans who are affected by heart disease. http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?px=2057058&fr_id=2106&pg=personal (http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?px=2057058&fr_id=2106&pg=personal) (http://shakymon.com/pix/tinmansmall.jpg) (http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?px=2057058&fr_id=2106&pg=personal) Title: Re: Heart Walk April 22nd Post by: Lynne in New Hampshire on 10-Apr-17, 01:31:13 PM Done! Title: Re: Heart Walk April 22nd Post by: Shaky on 17-Apr-17, 06:47:47 AM The influx of donations seems to have stalled at $210. There are only 5 days left until the Heart Walk, and I'd really like to get that number up.
Speaking of numbers... $3.2million - Current amount of money being funded right here in Rochester 15 - Current number of active studies being done in our community 45 - Number of local jobs created due to AHA funding If you'd like to be a part of this life saving cause, please visit my Heart Walk page and make a donation. I'd really appreciate it, and so would the millions of Americans who are affected by heart disease. http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?px=2057058&fr_id=2106&pg=personal (http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?px=2057058&fr_id=2106&pg=personal) Title: Re: Heart Walk April 22nd Post by: patsy6 on 17-Apr-17, 09:10:59 AM Done. Shaky, we know you've got a heart. You couldn't do all that you do for the Rochester falcons if you didn't have one.

I'm $90 away from my goal with only 4 days remaining. I could really use your help and so could millions of heart patients. One in three Americans has some form of cardiovascular disease, and stroke is the leading cause of disability in the United States. Your donation and support will help the American Heart Association continue their efforts to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Making a donation is easy. Just go to my fundraising page for Heart Walk where you can quickly and easily make a secure online donation. You can also use this donation as a tax deduction. http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?px=2057058&fr_id=2106&pg=personal (http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?px=2057058&fr_id=2106&pg=personal) P.S. Pat, stop spreading those vicious rumors that I have a heart. Everyone knows I run on batteries just like the ones in those Samsung phones. I got home late and checked on my Heart Walk page. $805!!! Completely blew past the $600 mark. Thank you to all those who have contributed. Such generosity! If you'd like to help fight cardiovascular disease and stroke, there are still 3 days left to make a donation. Can the donation total break $900? Title: Re: Heart Walk April 22nd Post by: Shaky on 23-Apr-17, 09:11:43 AM It was a great Heart Walk yesterday. The weather cooperated and the organizers did a fantastic job. Over 7000 people participated to raise a record $748,000. A portion of that, $1140, was raised by me (a personal record) thanks to a lot of generous people who kept giving and exceeded my fundraising goal every time I raised it.
Thank you! P.S. I'd better stop now before I get all misty-eyed and rust my ax off. (http://www.dailyencouragement.net/images/misc/rusty_axe.jpg) Title: Re: Heart Walk April 22nd Post by: Carol P. on 23-Apr-17, 09:30:07 AM Good job Shaky! Good job all that gave to such a worthy cause!

I missed it at home because my ad blocker hid the video, and all I saw was the photo.

You're not looking at Kodak, so you must be looking at FCT, Crossroads or the north side of OCSR, right? Hey, I always do some falcon watching when I'm at Frontier Field. :)
Title: Re: Heart Walk April 22nd Post by: Shaky on 24-Apr-17, 02:52:38 PM Nice shot! You're not looking at Kodak, so you must be looking at FCT, Crossroads or the north side of OCSR, right? Hey, I always do some falcon watching when I'm at Frontier Field. :) The video was shot on Morrie Silver Way just north of Frontier Field. From there I couldn't see anything toward downtown because the stadium was blocking my view. I checked the Kodak tower several times as I walked by on my way toward State St. No falcons. Title: Re: Heart Walk April 22nd Post by: patsy6 on 24-Apr-17, 03:02:28 PM Ah, true. You can see downtown when you're in the stadium, but not from where you were on that part of Morrie Silver Way.
