Title: Pelicans with nowhere to go
Post by: AlisonL on 10-Sep-17, 01:57:39 PM
The plight of the pelicans

Florida's Seacoast Seabird Sanctuary has evacuated all the patients they can, but they have 66 pelicans with nowhere else to go as Hurricane Irma approaches.

I hope the pelicans will be able to stay safe during, and after, the storm.

According to one of the volunteers who went out to help clear debris, the pelicans all made it through Hurricane Irma and are doing fine.

The sanctuary sustained some structural damage, and an outdoor hospital area will need to be rebuilt, but otherwise everything came through the storm okay.
