Title: An alternative watching area Post by: Lou on 04-Apr-10, 08:52:48 PM Just wanted to share some pictures I took this evening. Most of the pics were taken from Aqueduct Park, a small area that's only a few steps away from where we've been hanging out on the Broad Street bridge. It's one alternative to consider if the Broad Street bridge becomes difficult to watch from while the construction is going on.

Title: Re: An alternative watching area Post by: Bird Crazy on 05-Apr-10, 07:43:31 AM Diana R wants to know where to get access to the park?
She asked over on the old board. Title: Re: An alternative watching area Post by: Shaky on 05-Apr-10, 08:45:58 AM It's across Main St. from First Federal Plaza (aka OCSR) and across the river from the Convention Center. It can be accessed from Main St. or Graves St.
Title: Re: An alternative watching area Post by: Dumpsterkitty on 05-Apr-10, 07:13:08 PM I placed a ? where I think the park is on my map (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ie=UTF8&view=map&msa=0&msid=113971923413246279064.00046b277dfa2d0212e58&z=13). If it's correct, I'll pick a better place marker...

Here is a full map of Rochester that seems pretty recent: http://www.rochesterdowntown.com/downloads/rochester_downtown_map.pdf Lou PS Check out this Rochester Subway site. I came across it as I was looking for a good map of downtown Rochester. It's interesting that the subway might have run from Pittsford to Charlotte Beach. After looking at some of the info here, I just can't help but feel that Rochester has gone backwards in may ways. http://www.rochestersubway.com/topics/ Title: Re: An alternative watching area Post by: Shaky on 06-Apr-10, 08:17:04 PM I like the modern map. It would need a Green line to get to the train station and swing southeast to the Eastman and Auditorium theaters, the museums, and then eventually turn north at Culver to head to Durand, Seabreeze, and finally across the Bay to Webster.
