Once again, this year Genesee Valley Audubon Society and Rfalconcam will be participating in ROC the Day on December 2, 2025. ROC the Day is United Way 24-hour, online event on giving Tuesday. It provides an opportunity to support not-for-profit organizations, like GVAS. There will be 24 ROC?n hourly bonuses on ROC the Day from 12:00 a.m. -11:59 p.m. Random Donor Magic: On the odd hours during ROC the Day (i.e. 1am, 3am, 5am, etc.) one donor will be randomly selected to designate a gift of $500 to an organization participating in ROC the Day. (12 total winners) Most Donor Power Play: On the even hours (i.e. 2pm. 4pm, 6pm, etc.) the ROC the Day organization with the highest amount of donors between the last two hours will receive $500. Nonprofits cannot win this more than once. (12 total winners) Please consider donating to Genesee Valley Audubon Society and/or Rfalconcam during ROC the Day. ROC The Day bonus rewards are available again this year, and they are the same as last year's. Every odd hour they will draw a ROCstar's name and give $500 to the charity of their choice. Every even hour $500 will be given to the organization that had the most donors in the previous 2-hour time period. Donate between midnight and 1 AM just like last year. The first ROCstar bonus drawing will be at 1 AM for the hour preceding it. Last year was the first year we did not get a bonus. Let's try to get more donors in that midnight to 1 AM slot this year. Encourage friends and family to donate. Perhaps bring up the topic today at Thanksgiving gatherings. If anyone is wondering what to get you for Christmas, tell them a midnight donation to your favorite falcon site would be the perfect gift. The first "most donors" bonus will be at 2 AM. There's no need to stay up until 2 if you've already donated before 1 AM. So stay up until midnight, donate, and go to bed! In fact, you might want to continue to make a series of $1 donations throughout the day tomorrow so you'll have a chance on the odd hours to win the opportunity to have $500 donated to your favorite non-profit.
