Title: Links on Social Stream "chat" portion of streaming video page Post by: Shaky on 18-May-10, 10:40:41 PM There are several problems with links posted to the Social Stream.
1. Long URLs are truncated. All of the text may appear on the screen, but only the first 20(?) characters are used. This results in an incorrect link to an invalid page. 2. The Social Stream is open to everyone including those with malicious intent. Since it belongs to Ustream, we cannot change this. Anyone can post a link to a virus, spam, etc. The best way to handle this is to refrain from posting links in the Social Stream and to avoid clicking on links posted by people you don't know. If you see a suspicious link on the Social Stream, post a warning to everyone to not click on it. |
