Oh, we intend to, as there is no pizza outside of the NY/NJ Metro area.  I'm hurting here!  Haven't had a real pizza since OCTOBER!

MAK - I don't know what they do or don't do to pizza here, but it is a scary event.  I go back home and pizza is like it should be.  I think it is the water (seriously).  We will be bringing a few pies back.  I will share some with my boss (native of CT), as leftover pizza is still better than what we can get here.  Sad....

Happy Anniversary, and enjoy the pizzas!

Paul

Thanks Paul!  The choice was a) the Greenbriar or b) Pizza and the Lake.  The Greenbriar had about 10 minutes of consideration, but was no contest.  Pizza always wins!   :2thumbsup:

Hey Janet & Rich...spotted this note from Mary over on the other board...

Dear Janet and Rich:

I hope you had a most happy day.  I can't think of a better way to celebrate than with really good pizza.

Although there are many soi-disant pizzerias around here (Charlotte, NC), there is no pizza worthy of the name.  About the best I can get is "Mama Mary's" pre-made crust with my own toppings.  In Charlotte they think garlic is something that comes granulated in a jar.  I have been here almost seven bleak pizzaless years.  Oh, pizza fairy, take me back to Connecticut, where even cold leftover pizza is better than what they serve in this city.
I am firmly convinced there is no real pizza south of Mason & Dixon's line.  I long for pizza with fresh garlic, homemade sausage, extra mozzarella.  Deep dish Chicago style brimming with sauteed mushrooms is OK, too -- but they never heard of it in Charlotte.

Love to you both,
Mary (pizzaless in Charlotte)

Thanks for posting Ei!  I'll send Mary a note later from home.  That said, Mary has summed up my feelings about pizza perfectly.  It simply doesn't exist south of the Mason-Dixon line.  I once brought some back and shared a slice with my boss (originally from CT) who promptly devoured it cold!  I don't get it.  How can something as simple as pizza be impossible to make in the pizza-less wasteland that we call the south?
