Title: two dogs found abused in rochester
Post by: jeanne on 30-Jun-10, 05:26:06 PM
How some sub species could do this to these poor dogs is beyond me:

They ought to throw whoever did this into a garbage dumpster and let them think about it.

I agree MAK!!!!  Those poor sweet animals.  The same thing should be done to whoever did this.  I always remember a couple of years ago at High Falls when someone threw a pit bull over the bridge.  That poor dog had probably been  involved in dog fighting.  It was so heartbreaking to see him.

Oh Jeanne, I really do not understand how people can do such things to innocent creatures like that!!  Some guy threw a dog out the window in Syracuse a few days ago, poor thing broke 2 or 3 of his legs...and the little dog looked so sweet on tv :(

I hope the nightmare is over for these two innocent creatures and that they find warm, loving homes.

I volunteer at Lollypop Farm where these 2 pit bulls were taken.  The 6 month old female is named Wiki and she has been doing well.  The 1 year old male is named Timber.  He needed to remain in the clinic for a while but I was there last week when they moved him into one of the administrative office to get some peace and quiet.  He's still very thin but he seems to be getting around OK.  He's mostly skin and bones but his tail is wagging all the time.  It's amazing to see how often abused animals learn to trust humans again.  Since the "owner" has been charged I believe the dogs will be held as evidence until the trial is over.  By then they should be back on their feet and ready for new homes.  If you go to www.lollypop.org there's an article on the home page about them.

I can't handle these "cruelty" cases anymore. It breaks my heart seeing these poor animals suffer because some people JUST DON'T CARE. How hard is it to love an animal, my God they show us enough affection. These 2 pups did not deserve this, the owner needs a good lesson but unfortunately, they don't learn as well as animals. I wish I could take them all.

Thanks P&C for your help in taking care of Wiki & Timber, I'll bet they are loving it.

Just wanted to give you an update on the abused dogs.  The lady who was charged with cruelty finally pled guilty and now the younger pit bull "Wiki" is up for adoption.  You can find her picture at "www.lollypop.org".  I assume the older male is still recovering at the shelter since he was in worse shape.
