A BBC film crew has filmed the intimate life of one of the world's largest and most powerful eagles, the harpy eagle of Central and South America. The Harpy Eagle is so amazing. Title: Re: Close encounters with giant harpy eagle of Venezuela Post by: MAK on 06-Jul-10, 11:24:26 AM http://news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_news/newsid_8774000/8774926.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_news/newsid_8774000/8774926.stm) Video and story A BBC film crew has filmed the intimate life of one of the world's largest and most powerful eagles, the harpy eagle of Central and South America. Thinking about harpy eagles, though, always reminds me of hawk-headed parrots. I had the fortune to play with one at Omar's Exotic Birds in Orange County once. WOW. http://forums.avianavenue.com/attachments/hawkhead-trail/3172d1257027955-hawk-headed-red-fan-parrot-cassius-fan.jpg see??? We had a member of the old board, used the screen name Timely Writer; his real name was Joe - he was a really nice guy. You may remember we found out that Joe passed away at some point. He had one - I think actually it may have been his second. I just found that a picture of his hawk-headed parrot (he got it somewhere in NJ, he said) is still on the internet: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/10/16151216_f4710b0b5d.jpg Dale Title: Re: Close encounters with giant harpy eagle of Venezuela Post by: MAK on 06-Jul-10, 12:09:02 PM Wow!
