Title: walmart recalls frozen veggies
Post by: jeanne on 17-Oct-10, 06:44:59 PM
Rochester, N.Y. - If you’ve bought any frozen veggies from Wal-Mart recently, you might want to check the label.

Pictsweet, a company out of Tennessee, announced a recall Friday of 24,000 packages of frozen vegetables sold in Wal-Mart stores nationwide.

The company says some of the packages, sold under the “Great Value” brand, may contain pieces of glass.

Managers at two Rochester-area Wal-Mart Supercenters say they pulled the frozen products off the shelves as soon as the recall was announced.  They say people who may have bought the products prior to the recall can bring them—or a receipt—back for a refund.

Pictsweet says these are the packages to look out for:

--Great Value 12 oz. Peas and Carrots with production codes 1440BU, 1440BV, 1440BW and 1600BD

--Great Value 12 oz. Steamable Sweet Peas with “best by” dates of July 20, 2012 and July 21, 2012

If you have any questions, you can call The Pictsweet Company at 1-800-367-7412, ext. 417 or your local Wal-Mart.
