Title: Corn Spills in Tractor Trailer Rollover on 490 - 11/30/10
Post by: Carol P. on 30-Nov-10, 02:14:33 PM
I can just see the Crows and other birds checking out this mess of corn.  Hopefully no birds will be harmed by being too close to the road.  This is very close to A&B's territory.

If you click on the picture and enlarge it, you can see the Times Square Bldg, old Changing Scene's Restaurant, the Powers Bldg, the Kodak Tower, etc.

The only thing that I can recognize is the Kodak tower...  Don't know the others well enough to pick them out from this angle...  That's some bird feast!  Hope you're right that the crows etc. are safe!  That pile of grain is quite a lure!   :mini-bird: :mini-bird: :mini-bird:

Thanks for catching the photo for us all, Carol!

It is an odd angle to see the landmarks.  We're accustomed to thinking pretty much straight north & south-this view is west/northwest.  I recognized it because that's the exit I use entering Rochester.  Here's a marked up version (I think I got them all right-and the name of the bridge is....)

edit to add-Susan B Anthony/Frederick Douglas bridge, right?

Thank you so much!!!  I didn't even pick the right tower for Kodak!  Hmmmm...  I must visit Rochester this coming Peregrine Season and familiarize myself with the land!  Something to look forward to!!

Best Wishes,

That is a really interesting angle on downtown Rochester.  and yes that is the Susan B Anthony/Frederick Douglas bridge.  Good job Ei!

Anne - They're reporting this morning that the whole mess was cleaned up, although I find that hard to believe.  There has to be some kernals of corn left for our avian friends.

Birds can see what man misses!!  Guaranteed!  Otherwise why would pigeons and sparrows peck away at bare sidewalks and get plenty to eat!!  Used to fascinate my Dad!  :chick3:
