I remember a picture from this site a few years ago...pigeons lining the walls, peregrine watching from the perch.  Probably the safest place for the pigeons since peregrines catch their prey on the wing.

I remember that too Ei! Was a great pic. Pigeons like to hang out there.

For the first time since 2007 we have an egg in the nest box here as of yesterday.  The new resident pair are Jamie and Moxie.  They both arrived last year, Jamie as a 2 year old and Moxie as a 1 year old.

A few pics from today, showing the three eggs. There was snow in the nest this morning, but most of it had melted by the afternoon.

For those of you who follow the Ft. Wayne Indiana nest. Last year long time female Freedom disappeared and current female Moxie arrived.

"Freedom (b/r U/*8; female hacked in Evansville, 1994) found dead on 5/16/13 a few blocks from previous nest site in Fort Wayne.

...the body was in excellent shape, so it was very recent. She will be sent to a taxidermist for mounting."

Sorry to post this in the midst of all the good news at the Ft. Wayne nest, but now we know what became of our beautiful lady.

Godspeed Freedom.

19 years old is a long life for a peregrine considering all the dangers they face. A survivor... :star:

Interesting that she lived another year after being displaced from her territory. I wonder whether she was trying to get it back. Nineteen years is a very good life for a peregrine.
