Title: Gardening and Wildlife Post by: Bobbie Ireland on 17-Mar-11, 06:53:47 AM I would guess that many of us also love our gardens... and here is a timely reminder about using chemicals... which I seldom do. Also a PDF to download, which should be useful in whichever part of the world you garden.

We don't use any chemicals in our yard and gardens which is why our lawn has alot of weeds. Hey, weeds are GREEN and birds love the seeds from those weeds. For instance, dandelion weed seeds are like eating chips for the birds. My house finches and white-crowned sparrows love them as do the house sparrows! Thanks Bobbie for sharing this important news :2thumbsup:

Thanks Bobbie for sharing this important news :2thumbsup: We don't use any chemicals either - which is why our "lawn" is just green weeds too. The bees love the early buttercups. But I am having one problem, and that is with my Brussels sprouts (I grow those for Rod as I think they are evil!) and broccoli. The cabbage white butterfly loves these... and I am thinking (only thinking mind you) about whether I should use something on just those plants. Someone! Help me! I have tried netting etc. to no avail... Title: Re: Gardening and Wildlife Post by: Donna on 17-Mar-11, 08:29:01 AM I don't have to worry, I can't grow a thing! :(
