Title: Avian Reproduction Post by: brobeta on 04-Apr-11, 10:25:23 PM One of the things I really enjoy about this site is the opportunity to Learn! I am sure many of you share this feeling so I though I'd share some research I did with all of you. I have been watching the live video of Beauty and her egg laying and I realized I knew very little about egg laying and bird reproduction. I did an internet search and came across this website from the UK which I found fascinating. It does a great job explaining the basics and also many of the differences between species and all sorts of interesting tid bits - why are some eggs white and others colored? Why does it take several hours between eggs and is this true for all species?
At the risk of coming across as a total bird nerd :nerd: here is the site - enjoy! http://people.eku.edu/ritchisong/avianreproduction.html (http://people.eku.edu/ritchisong/avianreproduction.html) I hope this is in the right section of the forum - I know you'll move it if it should be somewhere else Title: Re: Avian Reproduction Post by: Donna on 04-Apr-11, 10:35:02 PM Wow, now that is one amazing site.
