Title: Owings, MD - First Bald Eagle Sighting of the Season
Post by: valhalla on 19-Aug-11, 07:27:18 AM
My cousin Marlene and I were sitting on the front porch yesterday, being scolded by the hummingbirds and watching my HUGE assortment of Praying Mantis.  I had my eyes to the sky and a Bald Eagle flew overhead (N to S flight path).  First one of the season!  I am assuming a transient headed to Florida, but I have also suspected a local resident pair.  Time will tell!

I am jealous.  I have been out every morning recently specifically looking for some of our residents.  I keep hearing reports:  saw one yesterday, five flew over, young one at the pond.
