Title: Saving a sheep
Post by: Aafke on 09-Jan-12, 05:18:28 PM
When a sheep is lying on his back, it is in big trouble and it is not able to turn him self. The sheep will die in a short time because the intestine are pushing on the his lungs.
The first time was a few years ago, it was very easy, we saw a sheep on his back, Robert walked to the sheep, gave it a push and that was that.

The sond time it was on Texel with my sister and we saw a sheep on his back but didn't know what to do, there was a high fence and a stream. We looked around for a farmhouse orso. There came a car, it stopped next to us, a man get out the car, climbed over the fence, jumped over the stream, pushed the sheep back on his feet and came back.

The third time was this week, Robert and me go out looking for some birds. We stopped at a special bird place, I was looking around and saw something moving in the grass, probably a dead bird and the wind is moving the wings. But I always want to know and looked through the telescope, it was hard to see but it was a sheep on his back. I asked Robert to save the sheep, again there was a high fence and a stream, but Robert didn't believe that the sheep was in danger. After a long time and a lot of talking from me, he climbed over the fence and saved the sheep. Good job Robert!!!!

I never knew that until you told me last year Aafke. You said you saved a Sheep and a man helped you. I wonder how many die without being helped. Very sad but 3 very happy sheep because of you! Thank you!

Robert: "The sheep is fine".
Aafke: "No, he's going to die".
Robert: "The sheep is fine.  I'm not climbing over the fence."
Aafke: "Please?  Please?  Save the sheep for me, please?  I'll stop making noise".
Robert: "Ok, I'll go over the fence and move the sheep"!

Or something like that   ;)
