what is it?Female Blackbird. Blackbirds are members of the Thrush family. We have our own native birds, plus many migrate to this area during winter from Northern climes.

Male is much blacker with a bright wax-yellow bill... will try to find a pic.

Not the best link, I fear, but it shows the diff between male and female. Google "male blackbird" for some good pix - I do not know how to make the image file smaller - duh!!!
