Title: Red-tails and Airports - The Sea-Tac Wing-tag Study Post by: Donna on 08-Mar-12, 07:45:58 AM To protect passengers, planes, and birds at Seattle’s Sea-Tac airport, biologists Steve Osmek and Bud Anderson capture, relocate, and monitor Red-tailed Hawks. The birds are banded, wing-tagged, and released 80 miles north. Bud says, “Almost none of them come back to the airport. So we’re learning that the program’s very effective.” Learn more about Raptor Strike Avoidance at Sea-Tac International Airport. If you see a wing-tagged Red-tailed Hawk in the Pacific Northwest, please report it to wingtaggedhawks@portseattle.org. http://www.portseattle.org/Environmental/Water-Wetlands-Wildlife/Pages/Raptor-Strike-Avoidance-Program.aspx (http://www.portseattle.org/Environmental/Water-Wetlands-Wildlife/Pages/Raptor-Strike-Avoidance-Program.aspx) RSAP Title: Re: Red-tails and Airports - The Sea-Tac Wing-tag Study Post by: MAK on 08-Mar-12, 09:21:00 AM Excellent solution!
