The strong t-storm with straight line winds of around 80mph blew several osprey young from their nests in Absecon on June 26th. On July 5th we went out to conduct a survey to see what sort of damages occurred.
At the second nest we checked we found the one and only chick that was produced on the ground.
Here is the chick after we put it back in the nest.
This nest lost both young that were produced.
This nest had one chick and it was still in the nest after the storm.
Here are three 6 week old young that were found on the ground. They were put back in the nest.

2 have died out of all that were rescued.

Amazing that only 2 died! I love the pic of the 3 in the nest. :thanks2:

The Rt 4 at Pax River nest is GONE! Nothing left. Fortunately, I believe that all 3 young had fledged by Friday afternoon.
