PORT DALHOUSIE - It was a cruel act of nature that killed at least 15 swans in Martindale Pond. And the culprit — parasites from snails scarfed down by the birds along the Port Dalhousie waterway. That recipe for death began when the mute swans ate the small mollusks. A bystander may have helped investigators pinpoint the cause.
