Title: Kapi's Sherlock
Post by: Dumpsterkitty on 10-Jan-13, 06:43:40 PM
I'm sure you remember Kapi Reith...she has the Vermont "Kaver" plate. She hasn't been around here much because her senior pup, Sherlock, hasn't been well.

Sadly, Sherlock went to the Rainbow Bridge today.

Deepest Feelings about Sherlock.
He looks like he was a Sweetie.

A recent picture of Sherlock enjoying the snow.

So sorry Kapi. Sherlock is very cute and he's not having difficulties of any kind now. As a courtesy to you-no smilies...

Thank you, Ei, for passing along my news.  Sherlock's care had been taking an increasing amount of time and, even though I still have a young dog and cat, I find myself sort of twiddling my thumbs tonight.  I've mostly been following the falcons on Facebook in the past year and hope to see a scrape full of eyasses this spring.  If all goes well, the Kaver-car and I will make it to Rochester in the summer.

P.S.  For MAK:

My deepest sympathy to Kapi in VT on the loss of Sherlock.  May everyone meet at Rainbow bridge.

What especially brought tears to my eyes is the quote from Hamlet, that I used the day my Winnie bird passed - and each time any sweet  thing passes:  "...and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
Can we ask for any more?   Wouldn't we all like that said of us when we pass?
Rest in peace, Sherlock and all sweet things that pass.

I am so very sorry.  May Sherlock run and romp, free from illness, with all of our little ones who have passed.

I'm so sorry Kapi for your loss. I hear that when animals cross over the (http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff234/magrr/Graphics/rainbow.gif), they get their wings and watch over us. What a beautiful dog your Sherlock is.

A poem I always loved.

I'm Still Here

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=Kapi (http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=Kapi)  I started a candle page for Sherlock, feel free to light one for him.  :sorrow: I used your name Kapi as Sherlock's name would not fit on the space for the name.

Kapi, I know Sherlock had a wonderful life with you; what a lucky dog! Your life is richer for having had him in it. He is free now with all the other loving animals, happy and healthy, and waiting for you with his heart full of love at the rainbow bridge. I too lit a candle in his honor.
