What an interesting woman! Has anyone heard of her?

Oh yes, I have read much about her.  Marie Winn wrote about her extensively in her Pale Male book.  She was an institution.  She did so much for birding.  I knew she was terminally ill.  So sad to lose a treasure like Starr.

She sounds like quite a character - who has left a wonderful legacy. Would that all of us could do the same.

I had read about her not too long ago.  She was quite a lady and such a sad loss for so many.

saw the documentary on HBO.  what a gift to be able to recognize so many birds and be willing to share with so many others.
