Title: Pine Marten attack!
Post by: Bobbie Ireland on 12-Mar-13, 10:32:48 AM
Whoa! No one seems to say where this little guy came from - they are usually shy and retiring critters, so one would wonder. Are there pine martens in North America? I have only once caught a brief glimpse here.

There is an American relative of the Eurasian Martin, the American Martin, Martes americana.  It's not a good idea to pick them up by hand, either.

Better use has never been made of that theme from the Benny Hill show.
That said, where the devil did that critter come from??

I, too, recognized the music!  It's "Yakety Sax" by Boots Randolph, from 1958.  Been used for funny chases ever since.
