 So it started with a really cool whirlyhead  And then I saw the name. ...Eurasian Wryneck (Jynx torquilla).  Thought it was a pun on the picture. It's not...   Eurasian Wryneck   Bird (Species) The Eurasian Wryneck is a species of wryneck in the family of woodpeckers. This species breeds in temperate regions of Europe and Asia.  Not to be a smart-ass... well, ok - I will - I have seen these guys. Amazing! AND I was actually the one on our birding trip who saw it first! Yay for me.
