They just reported that Ezra was injured and had to be euthanized.  Fly free, dear one :crying:

From FB...

This is a tough time.  When I have a rough day, I end up out with the birds, its what BOGs do!  Today was no different.  I was thankful to be joined by Kathryn Hoffman who had come to campus to be near the nest pole.  William Woodg Horning and I had looked for BR this morning but there was a snow squall when we got there so no luck. After looking for awhile with no luck, and having a conference call with Laura Culley to discuss what might happen next, we decided to check the nest pole one more time.  BR was perched on the top of the pole, above the nest.  We were parking so I could get her picture when a 2nd adult RTH appeared soaring over the field as he (we assume) sailed past the pole BR took off as well and they flew towards the lake soaring together.   It seems that she may have begun the audition process already.  I know this is hard and we will always love Ezra but I am so encouraged that she is thinking about what comes next and how to be successful!  No pictures yet but I'll keep trying.
