Wishing everyone a very Happy Thankgiving!!

and a very Happy Thanksgiving to you also!  Hope everyone enjoys the day with their family and their friends.   :thanksgiving:

Although we've had many set-backs this year, we've also had many things happen that we should be very thankful for.  Let's list them.  I'll start..............

1.  I am thankful that Mariah is safe and well after her territorial battle.

I am Thankful that our girl Quest is doing well and not so far away as the falcon flies.

I'd even be more thankful if she'd consent to some photos.

I have to thank Lennoxman up in Canada - he is the one who referred to Quest wearing a "cloaking device" (see Imprints comments), but I got a chuckle out of that too.  It's perfect for her!

I like this!

But I have a serious question about Thanksgiving.
I just saw on the calendre that Thanksgiving is tomorrow.
Is it ok to wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving days before it is Thanksgiving?
I cannot remember that we did that before.
To be clear, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Europe, so I have no idea.
 :thanksgiving: greetings Aafke

Many people celebrate Thanksgiving by gathering together with their extended families for dinner. This requires them to travel great distances that takes them away from their computers and Internet access until they return home. So some of these people log on before the holiday to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving
And I'm thankful for a lot of things, but talking about this group:
I'm thankful for this nice group, for sharing all the adventures of "our birds"  for the nice people I met here, for Donna and Dot, who both answered my question about Thanksgiving, for everything we share here and a lot more.
I hope you will have a very nice Thanksgiving and don't eat too many of the turkey.

To all of you wonderful folks out there who love not only "our falcons" but all of nature...who are there day or night when one of us needs cheering up, a hand to hold, a hug...I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving full of lots of good food, friends and family...

Here's a little ditty that a good friend just sent me...enjoy!

<a href="http://www.wondercliparts.com" target="_blank">(http://www.wondercliparts.com/holidays/thanksgiving_day/thanksgiving_graphics_06a.gif)[/url]

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,
BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,
I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -
THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION
WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.
TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP  TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.

 :thanksgiving:

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.
BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,
MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS.
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!
