Title: Winter bird Feeding Webcam in Estland
Post by: Aafke on 17-Dec-09, 03:56:56 PM
The Winter bird Feeding Webcam in Estonia is back. I really like it and already saved a few pictures.
The sound is also very nice. I love webcams.
It's night at the moment but early tomorrow morning you can follow it.

They do a nice job on the cams over there in Estonia.  Of course, I love the black stork!

He looks a lot like the Junko that should up at my feeder on Saturday.  Donna is posting the pics, so more later on our little guy.

Here ya go Janet!   Very pretty bird.

Thanks Donna!

We checked Sibley's and we THINK (do feel free to correct - even Rich said to put it before you all) this is an Arizona Dark-eyed Junko.  We never saw one before Saturday.  We saw another one on Sunday along the Pax River (Lower Marlboro).  What say you?  Same bird as Aafke's or a different one?

If I did this right, here's the two together...yours and Aafke's

The second one is by a Terry Sobel and not as bright as mine....

Janet, what a surprise  :2thumbsup: to have such a nice bird in your garden!

No they are different, in Europe we don't have junco's and I think you have no bullfinches.

I think (just like you) that the colors of your bird are brighter than the one on the picture that Donna sent.
I have no idea what it is.
greetings Aafke

Ok, I'll share this now...
Rich is having a few dead trees, stumps, and dead stuff removed out back (for an amazingly cheap price) and we are going to turn it into a mini-bird sanctuary.  I suspect will have both visitors and carnage (my squirrells and doves are down in number).  We plan to move most of the feeders back there, with only the hummingbird feeders remaining out front.  This is known as birding for idiots, so chirp with suggestions, or ideas.

Janet,  I think your bird is an Eastern Towhee.

Ok, here's 2 pics...1 is Janet's bird and one from the Internet. They both look alike...so I can assume it's a Towhee.

Thanks everyone!  Eastern Towhee it is.     Of course, even with pictures, Rich and I still get it wrong, but we have the Perfect backup plan - YOU!
