Jim, thank you for the update and for the picture!  Now he knows why Mama bird has been chasing him back to the nestbox Cheesy

I am thankful he is ok.  Isn't it heartwarming that so many people got involved!

The police have been interested in the falcons and have seen the watchers, so that is very good!  So glad, if Jemison had to be grounded, that it was grass and not the street!  So glad someone reported it!

So glad Dana and Jim are there with him.  Wonderful response from everyone.  They must have gotten him really quickly cause he had been seen around 11:30.

Sweet boy, life out of the nest is tough!

Wasn't the thinking that Acongagua is female?

I hope she is seen.  Really, we were right at the jail hours before Calli was found and did not see her.  There are so many variables.  I hope Warrior will be seen soon

They found the one who landed on the car???  I tried going on the site but didn't really follow it too faithfully!

I know it is nature and these little ones have such a high mortality rate but it is so devastating to see it happen.  When they are in the nestboxes, I cherish the moments because they are safer than when they start venturing out (infections aside).

I think it was Zephyr who was flying around with a bird part over the gorge.  Lou got the photo!  Jemison is definitely going to be fun to watch when Beauty lets him do his thing!
1797  Rochester Falcons / Falcon Watches / Re: Fledge Watch 7/1/10 (6 - 6:40 am) on: 01-Jul-10, 10:56:14 AM
Thanks but we had watchers all day long!!!  And Carol is the champ-- 15 hours the previous day!  I have to say that we are so lucky to have so many folks who watch!!!  MAK and Dan have been doing the 5:30 AM shift so it starts early with people coming in throughout  the day-- especially when word got out about our little Callidora.

Someone just walked past Jemison-not a clue-though I'm sure the wall is higher than it seems

Jemison's 4-5 stories up from street level (I wasn't counting closely-- too busy taking pics of him).  He made a nice long flight before landing there, including a nifty dive toward the river just north of the Broad St. bridge.  It looked like he might have been chasing a bird but I can't be sure.  We were near the War Memorial/Blue Cross Arena and looking into the sun at the time.  Still, based on what I saw today he's in the Zephyr category for me-- flying & landing well, no worries about him (unless he does something foolish like fly too low into traffic).

Pics and blog post to follow.

When the cam zoomed back I realized how high it was-the parked cars looked a lot closer zoomed in

Jemison is definitely Zephyr like.  From the beginning, he has just flown really well.  And he is watchful of his parents' techniques.  Amazing little bird!

That's ok.  Yesterday, I said grail instead of grating.  My cup is not running over but running dry rofl
