Awesome pictures.  I really enjoy the "legacy" photos.  I really started to follow in 2008 and those are my favorite.

2 falcons kiting over the B&L building this afternoon around 12:30.  Just beautiful.  Size of the two were different.  Anybody else seen 2 together downtown lately?

Nice stuff.  Did you notice that the RTH in #13 is banded!  I was at Braddock Bay last week for the RTH Watch and saw a bunch of RTH banded at their banding station.  Cool stuff!

Incubating at KP?  Is it verified that there are eggs?!  That would be awesome!

I had a ground hog living under my Dad's porch in the city that did the same thing.  Fill the hole, open the hole!  Fearless, I would pull in the driveway that was about 5 feet from the darn critter and it would look at me and continue to munch on the hyacinths!

Even if they do read it, I STILL will not eat at their restaurants anymore!

Deepest sympathy.  My wife and I did not know Kathy but we see the example she left with the dedication of this, the finest group of watchers.

Touch the trees Danny and it's off to the Brooke House for me from now on!  Where roughly is the nest?  I would love to get out there with my binoculars.

From the "Large White Building" downtown I could see a lot of activity.  Many birds flying around the Times Square Building.  This was mid-morning.  No way without binoculars could I tell if there were some battles going on, but a very large concentration of birds for sure today.
28  Other Nature Related Information / General Nature Discussion / Raptor Migration on: 02-May-10, 05:57:00 PM
We spent a beautiful two hours today at Braddock Bay watching raptors, in huge kettles floating along the lake.  We were treated to a release of a Sharp Shinned Hawk that had been banded at the banding station and also a low level flight of a Peregrine Falcon!  You know I had the binoculars on her looking for an antenna!  No luck.  But highly suggested to any watcher to spend some time out there in the next week as the migration is at its peak.  Turkey Vultures, Sharpies and Broad Wingeds aplenty today.  Enjoy this free spectacle!! clap thumbsup

I saw the Krestal too.  We had bionoculars on it.  Great show and a very good ballgame too.  Good thing the "dinner' didn't fall into beer.

Is there a site out there where I could enter band colors and numbers to help identify falcons, or any other banded bird?  Just asking.  Thanks!!
