I spotted this Sharp-shinned Hawk fly through my backyard this afternoon and catch a snack! I didn't want to scare it off so I shot through the window! Ahh, first time I've even picked up my camera in about 3 weeks! Here's the fb link:

Um, before I look, what am I to expect?

Not yucky-beak full of feathers...very nice to see you watching MAK!

OK thanks, I'm weak, always was, always will be!

I am temporarily at home, because a skin site is not quite right.
The doctor gave me an ointment to treat.
If everything is ok, I will return to the hospital.

Oh poor Annette, hope all goes well with you. Now you wait more? UGH. Best of luck to you!

They are selling T-shirts for the cause.

Where are they selling them?

Because of the Crow situation, they didn't say yet where the proceeds go to, they just want to get the word out. I believe they are selling for 15. People are very very upset over this. They have petitions going also.

Oddly most feeders in southern Ontario have been very quiet. The same number of the usual species migrated out in fall, but anything that usually ends up staying locally isnt showing up at feeders as usual where most of my friends are. I suspect they are doing just fine finding food. Ive seen insects flying near the marsh as late as yesterday, there are berries on trees for fruit eaters like Robins and Waxwings and Chickadees and Goldfinch are finding fresh buds on confused trees.

confused most definitely confused! So am I!!

http://wildnewjersey.tv/2012/02/07/dons-jersey-birding-finding-food-in-winter---its-tough-out-there.aspx He's right, the birds are devouring anything I put out. The starlings know when I feed my porch cat. They are ready to swoop in for some and the Blue Jays.
