Very sad about Infinity BF. What ever happened, I hope she is still alive and well. Glad your going out and doing what you love and your reports show it. Good luck, have fun and keep the posts coming. Thanks to Tracy for making this possible.  clap

!!! Good news from London Ontario
January 10, 2012 - London - TD Tower
CPF Postmaster Reports:

We have just received some interesting news from a falcon spotter in London Ontario that may spell some very good news regarding London peregrines. It would appear that two falcons have been spotted yet again in downtown London Ontario. Given the time of year, seeing two adult peregrines still hanging around together could spell a bonded pair holding down a territory. If they stay, we very well might see a nest in the making this spring. Fingers crosssed!

Ed writes:
Two adult falcons seen in London on King and Colborne. Flying between the buildings trying to confuse to pigeons for a little snack.

Update on Cheyenne! Chad & Chris

Thought I'd start a new thread, since we don't know if Cheyenne will end up back at the Brookpark nest site.

Stopped out to the MRC to talk with Laura about her upcoming program (side note: she'll be doing a talk on peregrines for the Rocky River Birds of Prey Weekend at the Nature Center on February 5th), and we checked out Cheyenne together as well.

The staff has been exercising him in his cage daily, breaking down food rewards so that he's worked four times a day. She's thinking he's looking good for release in the late winter, if all continues to go well. He did a few extra laps while we were in his cage-- looked good in flight and landing, and no sign of labored breathing after the workout. Here are a couple shots of him that I snapped before we left...

Thanks Kris G

Eagles at Norfolk Botanical Garden
On Friday morning, January 6, 2012 a female eagle was found dead in the Garden by a visitor. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries was contacted and they retrieved the eagle for further examination. Currently, there is no apparent cause of death. Specialists have closely monitored the nest since Friday morning to determine if the dead eagle was the female of the current nesting pair at NBG. An eagle pair was observed at the nest early Friday morning, January 6th and also just after sunset Sunday evening, January 8th. Mating behavior was observed Monday morning, January 9th. Biologists continue to closely monitor the situation. Norfolk Botanical Garden will provide information as it becomes available.

Do we know where Kendal is? I'm confused on this, maybe that juvie was also the one Kat saw last week too, flying around the nest, back and forth. Hmmm

Meant to say also that I hope Kendal is okay.  Perhaps he was visiting one of their other other haunts yesterday!  You know that if it turns out Windwhistler is still the resident male at King St - that makes Kendal his son...  devil

It just gets thicker here! Thanks Carly

Hey,
Just thought I would pop in for a minute. I just got an e mail from Marty Matag, yes I know she is gone. Someone is using her account. I did not open it and it had a few of your names on it to. So beware of them.
Take Care, ginha

Hi ginha, spammers....pffft. Thanks for the heads up!

There's been a surge in snowy owl sightings across the nation, and on the North Shore, and biologists believe the thanks goes to lemmings, those hapless little creatures known for jumping en masse off cliffs.
