A much smaller visitor at our feeders this morning - a Redpoll. Spotted and ID'd by Rod... I missed it, but a pleasure to know they are there!

I typed in Redpoll on google and this is what I got!

Wow, Rod saw one of them at your feeder!!! YIKES!

Then I realized I typed in Red poll, not Redpoll!  devil Smaller visitor.....NOT!! Smiley

We are quite rural, Donna, but honestly!

What can I say but OK, I'm on the caffeine now so all is good!

OH, my dream I had this morning was well....enough to put me away! I'm going to tell it because I'm looney enough to do so! I was in Rochester on a visit and went DT to see the falcons. Was suppose to meet up with some watchers. Couldn't find any when suddenly I hear "Hey, over here". I looked around and was shocked to find, MAK, Carol, Kathy O, Dana, Joyce, a few unknowns and "SHAKY" sitting on seats, in a tree, watching falcons, like it was no big deal. I usually remember my morning dreams and OK, I'll be packing my bags!  silly paperbag  NOT MY FAULT, DREAMS HAPPEN!!

Lovely piece from Bob Marcotte... who knew they came to feeders! I would collapse!

Me too Bobbie! They are huge and beautiful. I saw a couple over the Summer hammering away at a tree. You know when you hear that sound, it's Woody! Thanks

WINORR- Wildlife In Need of Rescue and Rehabilitation

We are extremely heart sick to have to announce to everyone that Violet has passed away . She came through the surgery very well . She woke up and was sitting up fluffing her feathers . All of a sudden she had a heart attack . the Vet did CPR on her for 20 minutes to no avail. xrays showed that at some point after her right foot had deteriorated , her left femur was broken . we don't know how she ever survived for as long as she did . We are somewhat relieved that at least Violet wasn't suffering alone somewhere . She was warm, peaceful and had a full belly and pain medication .We just couldn't get her in time .

 crying

This just made me cry! My daughter's boyfriend is here and he even knew about Violet, it was all over the radio today! Rest in Peace sweet Violet!

Thanks Kris
