!!! Life Returns to Quiet August 08, 2011 - Etobicoke - Sun Life Centre Kathy Reports:
It’s been very quiet the past few weeks with barely any sightings of any falcons, even Angel - who has been finding new places to perch away from the sun and heat. But today there was a nice breeze and it wasn’t as hot so she was back on the ledge for awhile once the sun moved around the corner.
Sadly there has been no sightings of the boys for the past 3 weeks at all. One can only hope they are safe and are taking care of themselves in this dreadful heat.
Today for the first time in a long time, I observed Jack flying in with lunch for Angel. She was in the nestbox and the normal greetings between them ensued and she accepted his food offering. When I left she was back on her beloved perch dozing with a nice full crop.

On January 26, 1957, Governor Hodges dramatically asserted that the Outer Banks were slowly receding 'due in part to the action of the winds and ocean currents and to the destruction of the dunes and vegetation by man.' Unless every effort is made, declared Hodges, 'to rehabilitate, stabilize and protect the Outer Banks, huge expenditures will be required in the future to provide protective work for the mainland after the Outer Banks are gone.

BRITAIN'S loneliest bird is set to find fame.
The Snowy Owl has been looking for love in the Outer Hebrides for eight years.
Now it has been filmed by the Beeb's One Show and will be featured in the run-up to Christmas.
The roaming Romeo is at least nine years old. Another Snowy Owl was spotted in North Uist in 2008 but unfortunately it also turned out to be male.
At up to two foot in height and with a wingspan of over five feet, the Snowy is one of the largest owls in Europe.
The species was made famous by Harry Potter books, in which his pet Snowy Hedwig delivered his post.
