I will be marking my day "quietly" as I say lots of thank you's and prayers for all those who have made this Country what it is today and all those out there serving in our Military near and far for what they ARE doing and sacrificing so that we all can be Free and our country remain safe! I have a son in the United States Navy serving overseas 2 months into a 7+ month deployment! Miss him and love him very much and hunger for emails from him when he can. My heart really goes out to those serving in Afghanistan where they have so little comforts of home and live in such danger every day! God Bless all of our Military past and present!   Stay safe and hurry home to all your loved ones waiting at home for you! |

On this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress, setting the 13 colonies on the road to freedom as a sovereign nation. As always, this most American of holidays will be marked by parades, fireworks and backyard barbecues across the country.

As a follow-up to my falcon watch tweets regarding Unity sitting in the scrape, and Archer under the pigeon box...here are some pics. The first 6 of U&A were taken around 5:22pm and the last 2 of U were taken when it was almost dark at 9:05 pm. Normally she is perched on the still late in the evening. Very odd behavior for this time of year. What's going on with her. Maybe she just realized, "Oh I have eggs?" Great pics though for sure. |

I was having a moment of...not worry...wondering why Quest was sitting on the nestbox for so long & not seeing Harlie. Then I spotted something...  ...beige strip on the tip of the tail. It was Harlie sitting there all along! I did the same thing! Well she sure did darken up since this morning!  I hope there is a fledge watch up there! She's going to be a Bombadier! I hope some people will watch for her, especially on weekends when they are closed!! During the week, they have plenty of people watching. |
