Okay...after doing two walkabouts, looking out through the telescope on the top floor, and calling and e-mailing the CPF (they're not in the office yet), we heard from a guy in our building, who has a view from the far end, high up, that Harlequin is squished in behind the nest tray. I'm hoping this is true and am hoping to confirm this!!
Oh wow, that's exactly what MAK said on the phone. I can't see it on cam and she's not moving if she's there. YIKES! Is there room BEHIND the tray? Maybe she's stuck! Plus, Quest would have been there looking. Oh boy! Kat, I posted pics from this am, if you scroll down, you will see them. The tray design is the same as the Sheraton & I have posted pics of the eyases squeezing in between the tray & the wall This is good to hear. I just saw both Quest and Kendal fly over there. Kendal stood on the ledge for a moment and then both he and Quest flew back to their perch on top of our building. In any regard, I left messages with the CPF, so hopefully someone will come out and help if Harlequin is stuck back there. Oh...this is nerveracking! It sure is Kat and welcome to the world of Falcons. I think if we could, we would all be wearing heart monitors this time of year! When I read your first post, the alarm on the monitor would be going off.

Maybe not. They can flatten out.

3 chicks left to die! GRANTSVILLE, Md. - Wildlife officials say Maryland's only known breeding northern goshawk has been shot and killed, and her three chicks were left to die in the nest. A biologist with the Department of Natural Resources found the remains of the female goshawk last week in the Savage River State Forest near Grantsville. The large bird, a forest raptor, is on the state's endangered species list. Officials say the northern goshawk was driven out of Maryland in the early 1900s by timber harvesting, but returned in 2001 when the forest habitat improved. The Maryland Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing the goshawk. Anyone with information is urged to call the Catch-a-poacher hot line at 800-635-6124. OMG, this is awful. That poor mom and those babies! MY FOX

Still all good here so far June 22, 2011 - Port Colborne - ADM Mill Doug Garbutt Reports:
It’s hard to keep tabs on what’s going on here but today I was able to see all 4 falcons (2 young, 2 adults) at the same time, so I know 100% for sure that both young ones are still alive & active. On my lunch break yesterday I thought I would go up to the 6th floor roof to try & view the young from a spot below where they hang out. Mom did not like my presense & dive bombed me & came about 5 feet away so I promptly left the area. The adults are always watching the young & taking very good care of them. So far, so good. Let’s hope it continues as we have had bad luck here the last two years. I’ll try to get some pics for my next post.
