Mark Nash Reports:

A huge thank you to Winston for allowing us to post his great photos and observation report of Milton and Truss. Wish I was there!!!
Winston writes:

Hi Mark,

Good to hear that you are aware of the Brampton peregrines and that you are taking steps to communicate their presence.
I would love to help with photos or banding should the opportunity arise. I work close to the courthouse and could even help out on my lunch hours.
I am submitting some pictures from the last two days that I give permission to use. The ones of the Killdeer are from yesterday, the kill was dropped off at the Northwest corner, then the adult quickly flew off and today a not so friendly American Kestrel forced one of the peregrines from its perch and actually south down Hurontario towards the 407.
Good luck, and keep up the good work!
Winston

Today is Sunday June 5, it is 3:04 pm and there is a peregrine falcon sitting on the balcony 12th floor railing.. It has been sitting there all day just looking around. Very beautiful bird. My daughter is on the 11th floor on another building and she is taking pictures of it.
We are in Leamington, Ontario, Canada. Down by Windsor where one of the other sightings recently was.

Its a shame about Irving, but life in the Peregrine world can be harsh. Having watched him last season,so abley raise his young and all it involved,I cant help but be alittle sad. That said I am thrilled the resident male is "one of ours". I attended Stormin's banding, and friends and I spotted Stormin several times in Scarborough over the past year. He is even the one I spotted on an  a tv antena at the end of my block, photographed and ID'd. Now he is the resident male and stepDaddy of the young falcons. Its always amazing to hear back about one of our birds. I will be at the banding at Canada Square.

What a guy! I remember that pic Frank.

Nice pictures,do they live in the wild there?

Greetings Carla

They do Carla, very common turtle. Box turtle. They come out once in a while from the woods. I haven't seen one in years but they are out there. We always had one as a pet when growing up, then we'd let it go before Summer was over. My brothers would paint a red stripe on the shell so we would recognize him if he ever crossed our path again.

We still arent sure of the mate, but we know there has been a hatch,a banding was planned, but the young already started to run all over the beams of the bridge,so it is not possible to band them at this time. Hopefully we can band them if they come down during fledging.  I will confirm with Mark the number of hatches.

I sure hope it's Valiant!! Thanks. Too bad about the banding.
