Their could be another egg in the well at the nest. Archer looked like he put one over the side to the left of the nest box. Maybe it's still there. He didn't seem to carry it away.

Am I right in thinking the only way to see that would be to seriously unzoom the Main Cam, if it is in a spot not blocked by a board?
I'm confused...wasn't that the egg that MAK found on the street.  Or maybe I missed something...

I thought...um, nevermind. I think that egg cracked in the nest. I thought Archer took 2 eggs. No Ei, you didn't miss anything. I'm just missing a piece of my mind! stupid

5/31/2011  ::   Fledgling Update
The fledgling has been seen flying with both of the adults, seemingly getting flying lessons. He's getting stronger each day. Soon, he should get hunting lessons. This involves the adults transferring food in-flight and then assisting the fledgling in pursuit of prey. He seems to be on a fast track to independence. We expect him to gain full independence within five weeks. Then, he will likely leave the area traveling to unknown destinations. To learn more about this behavior, click on the Falcon Telemetry link on the DEP Falcon Page to view telemetry points and dates posted from the 2002 study.  clap

Ranger and Hunter still around
May 30, 2011 - Toronto - Mount Sinai Hospital
Linda Woods Reports:

Ranger and Hunter are still in the area and keeping close. Ranger was seen on the east side of Princess Margaret Hospital, while Hunter was sitting on the “Intact” sign at University Ave.  They did  a fly around together and then returned to their roosting spots.  While I was in the area, they weren’t paying  much attention to one particular area, to indicate a re-clutch of eggs. Sad

Third time's the charm for pair of peregrine falcons atop Toronto office tower

(The Canadian Press) – 3 hours ago

TORONTO — Bird-watchers in Toronto are chirping about the latest arrival at a north-end office tower — a newly hatched peregrine falcon.

It's the offspring of a pair that had nested on the top ledge of a building across from the offices of romance publishers Harlequin.

The Canadian Peregrine Foundation has identified the mating pair as Quest — born across Lake Ontario in Rochester, N.Y. — and her mate, Kendal — born at 18 King St. E. in downtown Toronto in 2009.

The foundation says Quest is the first satellite-tagged bird to produce young.

Quest laid three eggs earlier this year, but rejected the other two — raising concern among bird-watchers over the chances for the remaining egg.

The baby has been named Harlequin, since the nesting pair was first spotted by the publishing company's CEO Donna Hayes back in April.

Marion Nash, director of the Canadian Peregrine Foundation says the group's website www.peregrine-foundation.ca will follow the progress of the family of peregrines, which are a threatened species.

She said the foundation will set up a "fledge watch" to help ensure the baby survives its first few days and flight attempts.

"Often during the first two to three weeks, as unco-ordinated babies, the fledglings lose altitude and come to the ground, get themselves in all sorts of trouble or hit the building trying to land," Nash explained.

"We man the street in teams to keep an eye on them and rescue them when needed and get them back to the rooftop or to a vet if hurt."

Nash said the foundation will be recruiting new volunteers on its website, where a form will be available.
